What sort of things will I paint for you?

I would love to paint a landscape, still life, or abstract piece for you. At this time I'm not taking portrait commissions (including pets).

What is the commission process like?

The first step is completing the commission questionnaire to help me get a sense of what you're looking for. After I receive your message, I'll contact you to discuss your vision and options. If you want to move forward, a 50% deposit is required to begin the commission. We'll also complete the commission agreement together. This is a signed agreement that protects both of us in the event that things don't go as planned (this has never happened to me, but it's good to be prepared!). After I receive your deposit and we've both signed the agreement, I'll start working on your piece.

After the painting is complete, I'll collect the remaining 50% and any additional fees for framing, if applicable. Then I'll varnish, sign and date it, and install the hanging wire or frame. Finally, I'll carefully package and ship the piece to you!*

* Local clients - I'll hand deliver the piece to your door. :)

How much time does it take?

Acrylic pieces have a 4+ week lead time.

Because oil paintings require a significant amount of time to fully dry, the lead time on oil pieces is generally 8+ weeks depending on size and subject/imagery.

How much does it cost?

My pricing has some flexibility and I'm happy to work with you to determine the size and materials that will fit your budget.

The minimum for commissions is $300. This ensures that I have ample time to understand your vision, communicate my plan with you, and create the piece. Hanging hardware is always included. If you like, I can also work with you to choose and install a frame (cost of frame not included in the estimates below).
